Root Canal

This is the removal of all living or dead remnants from within the pulp chamber and root canal passages. When a tooth dies or sustains irreversible nerve damage then a root canal treatment is necessary to enable the tooth to be retained.

A root treated tooth becomes progressively more brittle over time. It is good practice to provide a crown to give added strength.

This course of treatment is usually successful, however if the infection returns the treatment may need repeating.  Root canal treatment is a routine dental procedure, here at the brewery yard dental surgery. However, sometimes it may be necessary to refer you to an Endodontist who is a specialist in this type of treatment.
